Curator’s Comment
Through this work you have achieved a dynamic composition with vivid colours and effective textural surface variance. You have deployed traditional techniques in a contemporary context which is reinforced by the sculptural quality of the work. The artwork statement serves to support rural experiences and challenges and speaks to these on a collectively relatable level.
Meg Stevenson is inspired by the natural environment, and with its flora and fauna. The shapes, forms, colours and textures are infinitely fascinating. The focus of her work is to harness the reflective and refractive qualities of glass to explore the nature of light in the landscape and its effect on the observer.
