Artwork Statement

A wave is powerful, relentless and ever changing. It builds up momentum before crashing on the shore. The ebb and flow create a rhythm of destruction and renewal, carving new paths and erasing the old. Yet within the chaos lies beauty with everchanging colours, swirling in endless motion. Waves remind us that disruption is natural, necessary and transformative, changing the landscape one grain of sand after another. They change boundaries, shift perspective and change the world in ways both seen and unseen.

About the artist

Meg Stevenson is inspired by the natural environment, and with its flora and fauna. The shapes, forms, colours and textures are infinitely fascinating. The focus of her work is to harness the reflective and refractive qualities of glass to explore the nature of light in the landscape and its effect on the observer.
