Nest building is a ritual carried out by practically every species on the planet. Birds come to mind first and foremost as nest builders, and Bowerbirds are renowned for their elaborate nests decorated with blue objects. Humans also build nests that we call home.  Our homes are our shelter and like the birds we revel in decorating them to make our homes into cosy nests. The broken glass represents the fragility of endangered bird species and the breakdown of human society while the blue colour represents the blue objects that the Bowerbirds collect.  Like humans, they also revel in making a cosy nest.
