RARA was inspired by my daughters ‘Rara’ skirt, her much loved, frilly party skirt. At 4 she would wear it every day she could. Putting it on became a joyful ritual. She would twirl and spin, transforming ordinary days into celebrations. Over 30 years on, the same skirt is the first thing her own children reach for in their dress up box, continuing that ritual of imagination, delight and excitement across generations. The frilly ruffles celebrate revelry through movement and play, while preserving in clay a family memory that reminds me of how the simplest rituals become the stories that bind us together.
