Artwork Statement
Threshold explores the meeting point between structure and surrender. Ordered vertical lines reference ritual: repetition, devotion, and continuity. Gradually this measured rhythm loosens, colour intensifies, fragments scatter and energy radiates outward. Rather than opposing forces, ritual and revelry are presented as interdependent states. One anchors, the other releases. The boundary between them is not fixed but dissolving; a space of transformation where restraint gives way to celebration, and individuality softens into shared experiences.
About the artist
Meg Stevenson is inspired by the natural environment, and its flora and fauna. The shapes, forms, colours and textures are infinitely fascinating. The focus of her work is to harness the reflective and refractive qualities of glass to explore the nature of light in the landscape and its effect on the observer.
