Artwork Statement
Glistening galahs is an impressionistic painting of three playful galahs splashing in a bird bath amid a spectrum of bright colours. The work explores the balance of ritual and revelry, drawing parallels between the birds’ daily bathing ritual and our own need to pause, refresh and reconnect. Through movement, colour and playfulness, the piece reflects the simple joy found in these moments of renewal.
About the artist
Lily Cant is a creative who has explored a range of art forms, with acrylic painting her preferred medium. Her work often draws on nature, featuring birds, flowers and landscapes. Inspired by artists who convey so much with a few brushstrokes, her work combines realism and impressionism. For her, the creative process is everything – becoming absorbed in the work and refining it until it feels right.
