Artwork Statement
My artwork Celebrating the small moments, is a representation of my cousin and I, performing our daily ritual of brushing our teeth. As we perform the ritual, we begin to sing into our toothbrushes – the revelry. In Filipino culture, we like karaoke and at most family gatherings we celebrate with this. My artwork is a celebration of everyday life with my family. I have composed the work looking into the mirror; the framing of us together, reflecting our family connection.
About the artist
Isabella Moodley is a young artist still exploring the possibilities of the art world. Her works are mostly composed in her personal style and portray her interests, in typically bold colours. Each work starts with Moodley’s curiosity and loose approach until eventually a finished piece is curated.
