Artwork Statement
This piece shows both daily ritual and a moment of revelry. On the left the girl is relaxing and reading a book with her cat, while on the right she’s out clubbing and dancing with others. It shows a moment of daily peace blending into a moment when she lets her hair down and embraces her wild side as many of us do.
About the artist
Nix Perry is a local artist born and raised in Dalby. Perry has always found art to be a way in which she likes to express herself. She finds peace through multiple forms of art, as well as skateboarding and being around animals. Generally, Perry’s art style focuses on dark themes and gory pieces, however she has challenged herself by creating a different themed artwork for this exhibition.
