Artwork Statement
This acrylic piece is based on a camping trip to South Stradbroke, featuring my mum and her friends drinking at a table set up halfway in the water as the sun slowly sets behind them. The moment portrays the revelry in simple pleasures, encouraging the audience to look back to a time when their mind was most at ease. This painting cements the golden moment, bleeding into the mind of daily life.
About the artist
Lillian Stevenson expresses mood with the flow of lines and eye motifs, often using – though not limited to – acrylic paints. She uses nostalgic situations, as well as metaphors to relate to or open the eyes of the audience.
