Lapunyah Art Gallery is partnering with the Flying Arts Alliance to provide you with an opportunity.
Face to face career advice interviews will be held at Lapunyah Art Gallery on Monday 10 February.
Flying Arts individual mentoring sessions aim to assist artists with one-on-one support. They offer tips and skills development to help evolve your creative practice.
These sessions can cover topics such as:
* Feedback on your current approaches, methods and work.
* Tips on writing about your practice eg. statements, website, proposals etc.
* Strategies for marketing and presenting your work.
* Support for exhibition or grant applications.
* Guidance in developing concepts.
* Other development subjects agreed between artist and mentor.
Interviews are 45 minutes long.
Only 6 sessions are available, so applications will be accepted on basis of ‘first in, first served’. A waiting list will be made for possible future face to face interviews.
Terms and Conditions apply:
* Must be a Western Downs resident
* Must be an entrant in the Melon Festival Exhibition
* Interviewees pay a subsidised fee of $50 (if Grant application to support Melon Festival Exhibition is not successful a higher fee will apply)
* Interviewees will be required to fill in an application form explaining their current arts practice and stating any questions they would like discussed.
The Career Adviser is also our Judge for the Melon Festival Exhibition. She is a practising international artist, with many years of successful arts practice, and academic degrees in the Arts and Business.
