Using this year’s Regional Artists’ Exhibition as a template, artist and arts educator Dr Margaret Power guides participants on the Artist’s journey to submit a piece to an art competition – from call out to completed work!

Artists are invited to bring along two pieces of their work to create a pop exhibition with fellow participants as part of the day’s activities.

Dr Margaret Power
Dr Margaret Power obtained her doctoral degree at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Margaret’s research on community based (non-formal) education has enabled her to work with Local Government and a wide range of regional Queensland not-for-profit community organisations. Her experience as a teacher working in secondary and tertiary education over the last 20 years has fostered her interest in the professional development of regional artists within local community settings and the impact this has on community cultural development. Dr Power is currently working in the field of diversional therapy within Darling Downs Health’s Rehabilitation and Recovery Services.
